[His presence isn't unexpected. He usually stops by at the very least once a week. When the door opens, he rises to attention-- until he sees who it is. He relaxes some after a moment.]
Don't you ever get bored of this place?
[A couple of the cats are already hopping down from their perches to rub against his legs. Naturally, they recognize him. Somehow Aphelion has a way with animals.]
[stuffs a large tip in the tip jar, as he always does.]
The first-year curriculum at Seraphim Law is extremely rigorous, in order to provide students with a solid foundation for understanding more advanced legal theory. It's important to study diligently, lest an improper understanding of the basics of the law lead to more serious misunderstandings later.
Anyway! If you wanna pull your nose outta the books for a while, you could always head down to that joint down the road tomorrow night. I got a gig. Guess the regular is out sick. Heh- when I'm done, they'll totally be calling me back for more, though!
[His hands are quick as he continues to fold, not requiring the need to pay much attention through sheer habit. He's clearly in a good mood though, thinking about the show. This place gets a lot more publicity than some of the other venues he's performed at, so if he does well here it'll be good for him.]
Have you been there before? It's pretty nice inside.
['It's been a while since there's been an act that I'm interested in'.
. . . That feeds his ego a bit but in a good way. He thinks he's a decent singer, but competition is tough and unless you know someone, getting out can be hard. So it's good to hear.]
Awesome. I've been working on some new songs, so I'll play at least one of them tomorrow. I'm still fiddling with the lyrics for another. Composition isn't so hard for me, but it takes a while before I'm satisfied with the lyrics.
[Fingers shifting as though going over their positions on a guitar before he shakes his head.]
Anyway, just let me know if you need anything. The place can get pretty packed, but if you want one of the more private areas as a base when not out dancing or at the bar, I can maybe arrange something. You'll just have to let me know if you think you'll take a partner. Or a small group I suppose.
Yeah. There's not much I can do in regards to that though until my shift ends. I work until close so I'll have to get ready here before heading over and setting up.
[He doesn't dislike this job and he likes cats. But it'll make for a tight transition over.]
Reserving a spot is just a text away though, that's not a problem.
Cutting it a little close, aren't you? Though, that reminds me, I should head home early today to drop off my things before the show. It wouldn't do to be hauling all of this around with me in there.
[pats his backpack which is stuffed with textbooks. u_u]
I'd say you could just leave it here rather than trek all the way home and back this way again. But I wouldn't want you to get stuck waiting for me just to get your belongings again.
[He points above.]
I live upstairs, so the owner left the key with me to this place since someone needs to check in on the cats and all if there's a problem. But you might prefer to leave early to begin with, and there's always a bit of work to do after a performance.
